Kaza, Kırıkkale-Ankara karayolunun Hacıbalı Organize Sanayi Bölgesi (OSB) mevkisinde meydana geldi. Edinilen bilgiye göre, İ.K.İ. (42) idaresindeki 34 KAN 078 plakalı otomobilin aniden durması üzerine, arkasından gelen 06 BNK 328, 41 APM 137 ve 32 AEC 266 plakalı araçlar zincirleme kazaya karıştı. Kazada, araçlarda yolcu olarak bulunan N.G. (38), S.K. (31), M.G. (41), A.S.G. (8), H.İ.G. (14), M.G. (14) ve H.G. (56) yaralandı.
